Inside Source: Security Forces Attack the Town of Ibleem, Idlib Province

Security forces attacked the village of Ibleem which situated in the Jabal Az-Awiya region of Idlib province in search of dissident soldiers. Mukhabarat who entered the village at 6 in the morning dressed as civilians and scouted the area and were then followed in by tanks. Hussein Harmoush's brother Mahmoud was present in the village. Hussein Harmoush is an officer who defected at the beginning of the revolution and has helped get defecting soldiers and other dissidents out of the country. He is also originally from Ibleem. His brother was housing 15 defecting soldiers and officers when tanks and security forces opened fire on their house. The defecting soldiers attempted to defend themselves but in the ensuing firefight, 7 of the soldiers were killed and 3 (Mahmoud despite being injured in the assault) managed to make their escape. The other 5 were captured and badly beaten by security forces. Security forces also tied the bodies of the 7 dead soldiers to the front of the tanks and dragged their bodies through the streets.

The owner of the house in which the soldiers were hiding, was arrested (he is 75 years old) along with his wife and eldest son. A number of women and children from Ibleem were also arrested because they are relatives of Hussein Harmoush. Fifteen houses were destroyed in the village by tanks, including one that was the house of relatives of the eye witness who reported the attack. It is still not yet known how many deaths there are from this assault.
