LCC Update: 11 Dead Around Syria- Homs Under Siege

Number of martyrs in Syria today reached 11 so far. Among the dead is a child
7 in Homs 2 in Idlib 1 in each Hama and Idlib.

Deraa Province:
Jassem: Abi Tammam School and the Economic High School have been stormed. Dozens of students have been arrested in the city.

Daeel: demonstration in Houria square in Daeel chanting "welcome freedom.”

Qaseer: More than two thousand protesters are in Farouk Square despite the heavy security presence and the continuous gunfire since this morning.


Damascus Province:
Damascus Suburbs: Security forces have surrounded all schools in the towns of Arbeen, Zamalka and Harasta.

Zabadani: Gunfire on students' demonstration.

Qaboun: Security forces storm the school "Ahmad Leylan for Girls.”

Douma: Two simultaneous demonstrations of university students set out shortly and despite the massive presence of security forces in Qowatli Street and Jalaa Street. They are chanting for the toppling of the regime and condemning its crimes as well as stressing the peaceful nature of the revolution

Flash protest in the Al-Jazeera Al-Sadisa (Sixth Island) in the Dummar area; dozens, including women, are chanting in solidarity with the cities under siege and for the toppling of the regime.

Security forces and Shabiha surrounded today Abdulrahma Al-Kawakby School in Medan neighborhood with six buses and four security cars loaded with armed units, this was after some students burned the national books and came out in a big students' demonstration, so the principal of the high school made all the students go home early from the fear of the getting arrested.

Hajar Aswad: Shabiha and security forces are beating and attacking nighttime demonstrators who started in Hajr Alaswad; they have arrested many of the demonstrators.

Doumair: An officer and three armed units raided the ninth grade in the boys school in the western neighborhood and threatened them of arresting and killing them if going out in demonstrations happen again, they also threatened the teachers of putting a check point on the school door and arrest them with the students participating in the demonstrations.

Homs Province:
Rastan: Abdulbaset Hamza, director of Abdullah Deek School, was injured during heavy random gunfire towards the streets from troops of the Poltical Security branch. Martyrdom of Malek Darwish who was targeted by fire shot from the security checkpoint located at the eastern entrance of the city. Bashar Saqr, a child, was martyred today, as was Malek Darwish. At least three other people were wounded. Among them were Abdallah Al-Deek, a school principal, and Abdel Baset Hamza, a teacher, as they left the school. A detachment from the Political Security Forces opened random fire from armored vehicles and machine guns just as schools and other institutions were being dsimissed for the day.

Homs City: Heavy shooting at Bab Sbaa is taking place currently.


Lattakia Province:
Jableh: A students' demonstration set out from Azi School, chanting for the toppling of the regime. Security forces surrounded Bassel school and beating the preparatory students after they went out in a protest.
