LCC Update: News Roundup from Around Syria

The Number of casualties today in Syria was at least 4.


Aleppo: The fifth demonstration today in Andan chanting for the toppling of the regime and the release of the detainees.

Deraa Province:
Deraa: Security forces are shooting in Sabeel neighborhood and they've cut off electricity in the neighborhood.

Nemer: At dawn the town has been stormed from three axes by a joint security campaign of military security, the state and the air intelligence. Activists' homes were raid and vandalized. The son of the activist Mohammad Awad Al Omar has been arrested. They also confiscated his computer. The cars of the security marched through the streets of the town and raided two schools: Nemer Al Rabah and Nemer Al Kamseh.

Damascus Province:
Kesweh: Martyrdom of Mohammad Al Farra by a gunshot to the heart which was shot by a sniper stationed on one of the tanks. The army used artillery now in shelling the city in addition to BKC fixed machinguns that have been used since the morning. The raiding and detention campaigns are still continuing and the people talk about more than 200 detainees. Power was cut to the area and helicopters were flying over Kesweh.

Security forces and Shabiha spread heavily in Barzeh and put up more checkpoints to inspect the people and cars, and have been arresting passengers.

Daeel: More than 5,000 demonstrators in Houria square chanting in solidarity with the martyrs and in support of the Syrian National Council (SNC).
Deir Ezzor: Withdrawal of several tanks which were concentrated in Ayash neighborhood. There is no information available about their destination.

Lattakia Province:
Village of Bayda: Security stormed this morning a primary school in the village after the students burned their school books and wrote slogans against Assad on the school walls yesterday. The security came after the school day was over and removed the slogans before the students returned.

Town of Jableh: Authorities have stricken the names of the families of the martyrs and detainees from the helping lists of Welfare and Social Services where they gave them a list of their names and warned them not to help any of them.

Hasekah Province:
Qamishli: Security forces dispersed a demonstration that took off from Alhussein mosque in Alkorneesh neighbourhood. They used tear gas bombs and smoke bombs, as well as hitting demonstrators with batons. three people were detained.
Homs Province:
City of Homs: The security forces launched an inspection campaign to the homes and storming campaigns from Inshaat neighborhood to Bab Amr including all the besieged neighborhoods

Rastan: Maher Zoubi, 11 years of age, was killed and his father injured, Miss Aminah Obeid was killed while her 11-year-old son suffered major injures and another 3 persons were injured, two of which with critical injuries, all by bullets from security forces who opened fire on a taxi that was rented by Maher and his family and on a minibus that was carrying Miss Aminah and her son at the eastern entrance of Rastan in the industrial district.
